About Catherine Carol

The LottsI haven’t been a Mississippian my whole life, in fact, when people ask me where I’m from my answer is “everywhere.” I’ve lived in Florida, Georgia and New Jersey before planting roots in the Magnolia State. While it was difficult at the time, I’m actually quite thankful for the experiences.  I was able to get a wider view of the world, meet new and interesting people, create a new life and make new friends with each move – I like to think of my life as more diverse because of our travels growing up.

I’m very focused on continuing my education. I think it’s incredibly important for anyone, but especially significant in the field of public relations, as things are constantly changing in our world. I received my bachelor’s degree in advertising with a minor in marketing and went on to get my master’s degree in public relations. (Thanks to Arik Hansen for including me in “The next generation of PR: 17 PR students to watch” and Dr. Cindy Blackwell for the nomination!) I am a 2014 graduate of the Area Development Partnership’s Leadership Pinebelt program, which I think helped bridge the gap between being a professional in my field and being a leader in my field.

I’ve completed 2 marathons, 5 half-marathons and a large number of 5k/10ks and counting. However, I’m not a huge fan of running – I just like completing races.

I love my family, animals, traveling, wine and carbs.
